The Flood Warning continues for
the Snoqualmie river near Carnation
* from 6 am Thursday until Monday morning.
* At 3:15 am Friday the stage was 53.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 54.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river crested at 54.4 feet at 2 PM Thursday and will
continue to fall today. Additional rainfall this weekend could
drive the Snoqualmie river near Carnation to flood stage again by
* Impact... at 54.0 feet... the Snoqualmie river will flood much of The
Farm land and several roads from Fall City downstream through
Carnation and Duvall.

... Recent heavy rain has lead to an increased threat of landslides
in western Washington...
Heavy rain over the past 3 days resulted in up to 8 inches of
precipitation and increased soil moisture to high levels across
western Washington. Although a break in rainfall is
anticipated... the heavy amount of rain that has fallen will put
extra pressure on soil instability.
Cumulative rainfall over the last week has soaked soil to the
point where the Washington landslide risk level is at elevated
levels. Several landslides have already been reported in various
locations in western Washington including near Mukilteo and
Auburn. More landslides are possible over the couple days as the
soils slowly drain.
With an elevated landslide risk... rainfall induced landslides are
possible during bursts of intense rainfall or when there is heavy
rainfall over a period of a day or two as noted in the forecast.
A gradually diminishing risk of landslides will continue for
several days after the rain ends. Areas most susceptible to
landslides under these conditions are steep coastal Bluffs... other
steep hillsides... and where hillsides have been cut back such as
